Are you a seasoned professional with a passion for giving back? We're looking for Volunteer Mentors to support newcomers to Canada on their career journey through the Job Search Roadmap Program by Cerial Projects Services.
As a Volunteer Mentor, you will facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions, coach job seekers on Canadian job market expectations, and offer career guidance based on your lived experience. You will be instrumental in helping newcomers build confidence, develop their professional brand, and navigate the complexities of their job search in Canada.
Responsibilities
- Guide mentees on résumé writing (SWOT format), job applications, interview preparation, and navigating Canadian workplace culture.
- Simulate real-life interviews, assess strengths/weaknesses, and provide constructive feedback on communication, responses, and professionalism.
- Present technical topics aligned with your field of expertise (e.g., procurement, logistics, inventory, Lean Six Sigma, project management)
- Coach mentees on how to leverage LinkedIn, conduct informational interviews, and build effective professional networks in Canada.
- Offer individualized guidance on career goals, industry certifications, and transition strategies tailored to each mentee's profile.

Encourage engagement, learning, and mutual support among participants during group sessions.
Must Have
- Bachelor Degree or Higher
- 3+ years of leadership and technical experience in supply management, operations and project management
- Supervisory or managerial role in the Canadian workforce
- Industry-recognized certifications (e.g., PMP, CPIM, CSCP, Lean Six Sigma)
- Solid understanding of the Canadian job market and hiring processes
- Passion for mentoring, coaching, and supporting newcomers

- Strong foundation in technical concepts and tools within your field
